Safeguarding

Edward Pauling Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and protecting them from harm and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

We have a number of policies and procedures in place that contribute to our safeguarding commitment including our Safeguarding policy.

Sometimes we need to share information and work in partnership with other agencies when their are concerns about a child's welfare. We will ensure that are our concerns about our pupils are discussed with parents/carer first, unless we have reason to believe that such a discussion would be contrary to the child's welfare. Child protection is part of the safeguarding process and focuses on protecting individual children identified as suffering or likely to suffer significant harm. Child protection procedures detail how to respond to concerns about a child.
